Beaches - Taormina & Giardini Naxos

Taormina, the "Pearl of Sicily", is a picturesque medieval village with a lot of shops and restaurants where you can enjoy the breathtaking views of the Ionian Sea. Giardini Naxos is a lively bathing resort with a fantastic long sandy beach, also ideal for children. The town offers a large variety of hotels, restaurants, bars and shops (distance 22 km from Castiglione).

Tips - Lipari en Vulcano

The beautiful island of Lipari consists entirely of black vulcano stone. Vulcano is the famous island with three different volcanos (70 km to Milazzo from Castiglione, ferry transfer to the islands in 20 minutes).

A visit to the archaeological park Neapolis, the baroque-style peninsula Ortygia and the Roman Greek theatre (distance 130km).

The Via Etnea with its beautiful shops and a large market (Ferra Lumi) runs straight through the city centre. Catania is known to be the fashion place of south Italy.

• Estate Castiglione di Sicilia (Castiglione Summer Festival). Free admission. A variety of cultural events from the end of June to the end of August in Piazza Maria SS. della Catena. Films, theatre performances and concerts.
• Randazzo Estate: (Randazzo Summer Festival). Free admission. A variety of cultural events throughout August.
• Taormina Arte: (Taormina Film Festival). Largest Italian film festival at the end of June. Starting from April you can reserve tickets at www.taormina-arte.com.
• Catholic festival: First Sunday in May in Castiglione Maria SS. della Catena.
• Mojo Alcanatara – Catholic festival on the first Sunday in August: cattle market and hand-made products
• Giardinni Naxos – Catholic festival: 24 June, 9 July and 8 September
• Taormina – Catholic festival: St. Antonio, 13 June
• Throughout February: Carnival parties in Castiglione and Francavilla. In Acireale you can experience one of the largest carnival parties in Sicily. Vicenzo organizes a special carnival excursion for our guests.
