Trattoria & WineShop Tenuta Antica Cavalleria

Our new Restaurant – Trattoria is exclusively for use by guests of Tenuta Antica Cavalleria this way we create a wonderful family atmosphere with other guests and enjoy the DiBella Hospitality, everyone can enjoy Mama Maria’s local specialities using fresh ingredients to make wonderful home made products, fresh pasta, cheese , jams, wine and the local Limoncello.
The Trattoria has recently been restored keeping its original construction and with a number of tables inside and out, sit back, relax and enjoy a glass of wine.

During your stay you can learn to make Pasta with the “Mama” in her own kitchen, enjoy a Wine tasting in the traditional wine press with Vincenzo, there are also plenty of activities for children.
Or just relax by the pool and enjoy a drink from the poolside bar, there will always be a member of the family to assist you.

Cooking & Culture

Every year we organize different cooking courses, aiming at penetrating the heart of the culture and taste of Sicily.

The cooking course is taught by our chef at Tenuta Antica Cavalleria.

The course can be structured into this way:

1. 6 day course/ 4 hours a day. Every day will be made typical dishes (e.g. first day: appetizers and starters, second day: main courses, third day: soups, forth day meat or fish, fifth day: dessert)

Simplicity, freshness and quality are the key ingredients of our dishes.

Wine Course & Culture

The wine-tasting course is directed by our oenologist Piero di Giovanni and it is held by a professional sommelier.

“wine tasting techniques”: wine characteristics, wine maturation and ageing, wine yards for DOC of Etna and Sicilan Wines

 “technique of the association wine-food”: wine and food sensorial analysis, practice of different wine-food coupling
