Francavilla di Sicilia is a typical Sicilian village with 5,000 inhabitants. In town you will find bars, restaurants, pizzerias and a supermarket. There is a market on Fridays. The distance to the beaches of Giardini Naxos is 17 km, Castiglione Di Sicilia is 5 km , Mt. Etna 30 km, the Alcantara River 3 km. The village has an impressive historic convent, the Convento dei Cappucini. The convent is open every day and is worth visiting. The Villa Contarato is located in the oldest quarter of Francavilla, the Quartiere Contarato, right beside the church Chiesa Matrice dating from the 15th century. The house has been newly restored and redecorated and the original interior has been conserved.

Villa Contarato is a characteristic Sicilian townhouse offering comfortable accommodation. The house has three small terraces and a garden where you can sunbathe and enjoy barbecue. The terrace is well lit in the evening.
